TRAIL TO HOPE ROSE
A former outlaw looking to make amends, Keenan Deerfield finds himself spilling blood and sweat as a miner in a hardtack western town ruled by a malicious landowner. His past comes back to haunt him as he must decide whether to be good or bad.
Honour and revenge come hard for a former outlaw making amends with the past in this drama of the American West and the valour in the lives of common men…
Fresh out of prison and looking for work, former outlaw Keenan Deerfield (Golden Globe nominee Lou Diamond Phillips, The Triangle) is staking out a new life. In the hardtack western settlement where he settles that means dawn-to-dusk rock mining, low wages, and living in a makeshift community built for the town miners by the vicious, hard-driving Samuel Drigger (Warren Stevens, Forbidden Planet). Drigger and his right-hand man Gerald Rutledge (Richard Tyson, Black Hawk Down) have made a small fortune off the backs of his workers—and they’ve been known to kill those who didn’t spill enough sweat and blood. Marshall Toll (Golden Globe nominee Lee Majors, The Six Million Dollar Man) may be the appointed law of the territory, but Drigger—with most of the mining claims and more than a thousand acres to his name—owns it. As Keenan is about to learn, making a living in this town is a gruelling task—but the biggest challenge is staying alive.
If one thing is worth the struggle, it’s Christine Beckford (Marina Black, Swordfish), Rutledge’s exploited and downtrodden girlfriend. The young beauty, pregnant with his child, has found a sympathetic friend in Keenan and the kind of gentle, loving man for whom she’s been longing. Their future is jeopardised though when Keenan’s past returns. His name is A.J. Foster (David Shackelford, There’s Something About Mary), a corrupt rancher who offers the retired gunslinger a 50/50 deal to get rich quick by robbing Drigger’s midnight payroll shipment. It’s a suicide mission, but it’s no less dangerous than the evil lurking in Keenan’s shadow—for the avenging Rutledge has his own mission: to reclaim the woman he owns, dead or alive.
Underdogs, renegades, mercenaries, and outlaws share common ground in The Trail to Hope Rose. Co-starring legendary Golden Globe and Oscar winner Ernest Borgnine (The Poseidon Adventure), this movie delivers the epic beauty, lightning-quick violence, and memorable heroes and villains of classic western adventure.
