THICKER THAN WATER
An old photo leads Natalie Jones to the bittersweet secrets of her late father’s past. She ends up in a place where horses run free, families are bound by honour and true love really exists, to discover her own past and an enlightened future.
A father’s legacy defines the past, present, and future of his daughter who discovers her own meaning of family in a long-held secret.
Following the recent death of the honourable Judge Charles Jones, his daughter Natalie Jones (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Melissa Gilbert, Little House on the Prairie), a rising star in one of California’s most powerful law firms, finds a faded photograph of her beloved father as a young man in an affectionate embrace with Maggie Mae Jarrat, a renowned rodeo trick rider from yesteryear, and as Natalie is soon to learn, his first wife. Devastated by the revelation of her father’s secret past, Natalie uses her connections to track the woman down. The information takes her to rural Longmont, California and Maggie Mae’s grave. But Longmont is also home to Maggie’s daughter, Jesse (Emmy winner Lindsay Wagner, The Bionic Woman), an ageless beauty as tough as the wild, living to fulfil her mother’s dream for the land, and possessing the bittersweet secrets that could bring Natalie the closure she needs.
The expansive Jarrat ranch was meant for Maggie Mae’s wild horses and their offspring to always run free. But times have changed. The untamed horses have become fair and legal game for cold-hearted ranchers like Tom Grove (Grainger Hines, War and Remembrance), who fears for his own stock’s valuable bloodline. Witness to this heartbreaking predicament, Natalie realises just how far removed she is from her own past and from the real world, but as righteous legal eagle, she vows to make a difference. Longmont’s handsome vet, Sam Nelson (Brian Wimmer, China Beach), is making his own difference in Natalie’s life—teaching her about a passion that only comes once in a lifetime, the kind Natalie’s own father shared with Maggie Mae. As more details from the past come to light, Natalie realises the true meaning of family, the power of love, and the unpredictable ways of the heart.
Fate, chance, and destiny converge in Thicker Than Water, an enriching and inspiring story of blood bonds, friendship, growing up and growing old, the importance of tradition, and the memories that become us.
