SHADOWZONE: MY TEACHER ATE MY HOMEWORK
Thirteen-year-old Jesse is a typical teenager: he baby-sits his sister, hangs out with his best friend, and hates his teacher Mrs Fink, but when he gets a possessed doll that looks just like Mrs Fink things start to get interesting.
Thirteen-year-old Jesse (Gregory Smith) is a typical teenager: he baby-sits his sister, Annabel (Dara Perlmutter); hangs out with his best friend, Cody (Edwin Hodge) and hates his teacher, Mrs. Fink (Shelley Duvall).
While visiting a vintage clothing shop with Cody’s wacky, New Age older sister, Geneva (Diana Theodore), Jesse sees a doll that looks exactly like his dreaded teacher, and he convinces the shopkeeper to sell it to him.
When Jesse accidentally pierces the doll’s arm with a sewing needle, he is shocked to find Mrs. Fink with her arm in a sling the next day and gets spooked when a spot on the doll’s face appears, exactly where Mrs. Fink has a mole. While playing with the doll, Annabel drags it down the stairs, banging its head on each step. Jesse sees this and panics, but is relieved the next day to see Mrs. Fink intact. Shortly after, however, Mrs. Fink is knocked over by a football and hits her head against the school steps?the same way the doll did. Jesse’s worst fears are confirmed when the doll crawls out of his backpack and speaks to him. He throws the doll away, but it turns up in his room again. Afraid to leave it where his sister could get to it, Jesse takes the doll to school.
While Jesse stashes the doll in his locker, Mrs. Fink demands to see what he’s hiding. The doll viciously attacks her, knocking her unconscious. Cody witnesses the attack and he and Jesse decide to take the doll back to the creepy vintage store, but when they get there, the store looks as if it has been abandoned for years.
Using fear as its tool, the doll orders Jesse around and as it begins to suspect Jesse of plotting against it, the doll causes Jesse’s mother to take a nasty fall, landing her in the hospital. Convinced the fall was no accident, Jesse is desperate for help.
Geneva’s friend Sol (Margot Kidder), who is knowledgeable about voodoo, determines that the doll is using Mrs. Fink’s vitality to keep itself alive. Geneva and the boys plan to cast a spell to send the doll back to where it came from. They successfully trap the doll, but must wait three days for a full moon to complete the ritual. Geneva warns Jesse that he must have pure intent for the spell to work, since the doll is nourished by negative energy.
As a result, Jesse becomes more organised, more focused in school and more responsible around the house. As the full moon rises, Jesse performs the ceremony to restore Mrs. Fink to her rightful place and banish the doll to Shadow Zone.
