HEART OF A STRANGER

In one part of the country, a young man dies. Hundreds of miles away, a woman’s life is saved. They were perfect strangers, and they have made a connection that will bridge two lives and two worlds in ways no one believed possible.

Jill Maddox (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jane Seymour, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) is a thirty-eight-year-old mother awaiting a miracle: a donor for the heart transplant she so desperately needs. When good news arrives and the procedure is a success, Jill and her devoted daughter, Amanda (Maggie Lawson, Nancy Drew), a college freshman at the New England Conservatory of Music, both gain a new perspective on the blessing of being alive. But neither could have foreseen the transformation of Jill’s personality. At first, simply quirky and uncharacteristic—a sudden love of beer and junk food, a penchant for cursing and driving recklessly, and an odd fascination with motorcycles—the behavioural changes soon grow into something more unfathomable: nightmares of death and of a boy with a message. Eventually, Jill begins experiencing troubling memories of the past—but a past that belong to someone else.

When the stranger in her sleep finally identifies himself as Tim, and Jill dreams of a fatal motorcycle accident, she’s forced to confront the unimaginable possibility that not only has the heart of the deceased been transplanted into her body, but the soul as well.

Dismissed by her daughter, even by her doctors, Jill embarks on a courageous personal journey to learn all she can about Tim, to meet his surviving family and, finally, to come face to face with a modern miracle. It not only alters everything she ever pondered about the unknown mysteries of death, but changes everything she already knew about the even more complex mysteries of life.
