FIELDER’S CHOICE
Career-obsessed executive Phillip Fielders life belongs to him alone but his sister’s death makes him the reluctant carer of his autistic 8-year-old nephew. Now Phillip is faced with a choice that will change the lives of all those he loves.
One of life’s most daunting challenges becomes an inspiration for a man who discovers the true meaning of family, friendship, and being yourself…
Life is perfect for promising advertising executive Phillip Fielder (Emmy winner Chad Lowe, Life Goes On) from his high-rise views and designer coffee down to his Tag Heuer watch, Bruno Magli shoes, and Armani suits. No disruptions, no disorder. Even his relationship with Holly Ford (Marin Hinkle, Dark Blue), his neighbour and ex-girlfriend, is blissfully civil and uncomplicated. Then, out of the blue, Phillip’s life is shaken by the death of his sister Jill (Ellen Greene, Little Shop of Horrors). Another shock to Phillip’s system is the news that he’s been given temporary custody of Zach (K’Sun Ray, Love’s Enduring Promise), the autistic eight-year-old nephew he barely knows. For a man devoted solely to furthering his career, becoming a surrogate parent is not a burden Phillip can afford to carry.
Though he can easily identify with Zach’s obsessions and strictly ordered routines, Phillip believes his only option is to surrender his duties to his cousin Rose, a maternal woman with children and a big house in the country near a school for emotionally disabled kids. But Zach, raised as a blessed and normal free spirit by his late mother, knows exactly what he wants – and needs. Soon, he and his uncle find they have more in common than either would have guessed. As one learns from the other and two hearts open up, a future of unexpected possibilities arises. So, too, does a new choice in life that Phillip never counted on: an enlightening change of pace called fatherhood.
A film of life lessons, self-discovery, and second chance, Fielder’s Choice is the perfect story for the entire family.
