No matter how years and miles come between family, one woman is determined to repair her own life as she helps her home town to rebuild theirs…

When her beloved mother dies, Lisa Rayborn returns to the cattle ranching town of White Tail Creek where she grew up. It’s a big difference from her life in New York City, where she’s spent the last twenty years as a powerhouse in the fashion industry. Still, Lisa plans to stay a while to offer support to her grieving father, Clay. It’s also a chance to get reacquainted with her brother, Jim, who’s traded cattle for sheep like so many other ranchers in White Tail, and to help the family ranch survive in tough economic times. It’s change like this that’s causing a rift at home. Clay’s too proud not to carry on the tradition of his ancestors—no matter how unreasonable the dream.

It doesn’t help matters when Lisa saves a dog she names Rosie. She’s determined to train the little beauty to herd her brother’s sheep and just possibly have her in shape for the annual Dog Trials, a contest that put White Tail on the map and carries a $10,000 prize. It also brings Lisa to the attention of Don Lally, a handsome veterinarian. Now, all they have to do is convince Clay that times are changing. But when nature conspires to shake the faith of the people of White Tail, it appears that everyone’s dreams may go up in smoke. The Rayborns must band together as a family, and the community must come together as one to rebuild those dreams as Lisa tries to make new ones come true.
