DINOTOPIA 2: THE ELECTION
Newly elected Frank has brought methane-powered automobiles to Waterfall City – along with its subsequent problems of pollution and congestion. Frank must repair the damage he’s wrought whilst Rosemary deals with an interloper – a new-born T-Rex.
Progress and rebirth come to the paradise of Dinotopia. One comes with a price, but the other appears to be a celebrated event as a party like no other unfolds in the lost world.
It’s election time in Waterfall City, and this year Mayor Waldo has competition—an opponent with strategy, strength, and sex appeal—Frank Scott. Now that Frank’s wowed Dinotopia with its first methane-powered automobile, he stands a good chance winning the election, which he does by a landslide. But as the forests are razed to accommodate parking lots, a harmonious culture becomes a congested, over-polluted metropolis populated by angry motorists and starving Brachiosaurs. Some call it progress. The former Mayor Waldo and his family call it extinction. Is it too late for Frank to undo the damage?
As the air clears, the town square buzzes with excitement about the ten-thousandth birth of a baby Chasmosaur—a grand and scaly symbol of Dinotopia’s continued civilisation. Unfortunately, Iridia, an island native whose two children disappeared in the recent T-Rex attack, has ominous news. She fears the cherished egg has been replaced by an Outsider. When it cracks, Iridia’s warning is confirmed—a newborn T-Rex yawns, teeth bared, jaws snapping. The cute little thing is as hungry as a baby. But for what? What the Dinotopians uncover is a devious plan that hits closer to home than they ever imagined. Now, with a carnivorous baby being raised in captivity, Rosemary, Dinotopia’s matriarch, is torn between her motherly instincts and her instincts for survival.
