Following in the thundering footsteps of the groundbreaking mega-series television event, Dinotopia, comes Dinotopia: The Series, the extraordinary odyssey of a 21st-century family stranded in an amazing prehistoric utopia.
Karl Scott (Erik von Detten, The Princess Diaries), his brother, David (Shiloh Strong, The Mommies), and their father, Frank (Michael Brandon, Robert Ludlum’s The Apocalypse Watch) are castaways in a strange new world. In Dinotopia, dinosaurs and humans coexist in perfect harmony. Welcoming the visitors to this marvellous lost world are the stunning Marion (Georgina Rylance), in training to be the beloved leader of her people, Marion’s father, Mayor Waldo (Jonathan Hyde, Prince and the Pauper, The Mummy), the overseer of Dinotopia’s magnificent capital, Waterfall City, and Marion’s mother, Rosemary (Sophie Ward, The Hunger), the revered family matriarch.
But beneath Dinotopia’s surface, dangers brew. They can be found in the towering castle of Le Sage (Lisa Zane, L.A. Law), leader of a renegade tribe known as the Outsiders; the life-and-death perils caused by the experiments of a strange sorcerer toying with the notion of immortality; in the mysterious failing of the sunstones, Dinotopia’s endangered life-force; and in the mysteries of a primitive village ruled by a charismatic leader. Through it all endures the boundless imagination, courage, and awesome wonder of a family lost in time—the last hope for world on the verge of extinction.
Inspired by James Gurney’s popular books, and executive-produced by the multiple award-winning father-son team of Robert Halmi Sr. (Arabian Nights, Merlin) and Robert Halmi, Jr. (Cleopatra, Lonesome Dove), Dinotopia:
