On the lost island of Dinotopia, humans and dinosaurs coexist in harmony. But this secret paradise could be facing extinction as an unstoppable threat approaches.

Recently marooned in the unique world of Dinotopia, Frank Scott and his sons, David and Karl, are torn between the fortune of landing in such a wondrous place and their yearning to return home. For David, whose new friend is a talking Stenonychosaurus named Zipeau, this adventure is a dream come true. But this hidden world—overseen by Mayor Waldo, his daughter Marion, and his wife Rosemary—harbours unknown mysteries that pose a life-or-death threat to all humans, and Frank and Karl remain suspicious. The sunstones, which keep all safe from harm, are suddenly failing, leaving Dinotopia vulnerable to the threat of a devastating storm.

The unpredictability of nature pales in comparison to the news that a charging team of T-Rex are less than a mile away from the capitol. Mayor Waldo urges quick evacuation to the only refuge possible, Earthfarm, leaving an abandoned Waterfall City to the Outsiders. The band of ruthless island looters, led by LeSage and Quattrone, has not only taken over what’s left of paradise, but they’ve discovered the key to its collapse—a gem that once belonged to the human king of the Tyrannosaurs. With the fate of Dinotopia in the hands of this renegade crew, what future is there for those who still abide by the codes of this idyllic world?
