SANTA JUNIOR
Santa Claus’s son is reluctantly taking over the family business, but things go awry when he is mistaken for the notorious “Christmas Bandit” and arrested. With Christmas in danger, Santa Jr. will have to find his Christmas spirit to save the day.
Chris Kringle, Jr. (Nick Stabile, Popular) is going into the family business, but the reluctant heir to the gift-giving throne isn’t exactly living up to his potential. With the help of an unlikely cast of characters, Santa, Jr. will have to learn to trust the Christmas spirit and believe in the magic of giving. The future of Christmas depends on it.
It’s the night before Christmas Eve in balmy San Diego and Chris Kringle, Jr., outfitted in an oversized Santa suit, is lurking around a tiny apartment in the dark, trying to deliver toys when he is mistaken for the notorious “Christmas Bandit.” He is arrested by police detective Norm Potter (George Wallace, Batman Forever) and his young partner Darryl Bedford (Golden Globe nominee Judd Nelson, The Breakfast Club) and taken into custody. Susan Bailey (Emmy nominee Lauren Holly, King of Texas) is assigned as Chris’s public defender. Soured on all things Christmas by her philandering ex, Susan is hard-pressed to believe Chris’s story that he is, in fact, the son of Santa Claus. While Chris is less than thrilled with his job, he knows there are people counting on him. He begs Susan to figure out a way to keep him out of jail and she agrees to help. The judge allows Chris’s release, but sequesters him to house arrest at Susan’s place until his trial.
With Christmas Eve quickly approaching, Chris is in a race against the clock to keep Christmas on schedule. Things, however, are looking pretty bleak. He’s trapped in Susan’s house, his grumpy elf, Stan (Ed Gale, Child’s Play), is nowhere to be found, and his magical bag of toys is locked up in the evidence room of a police station. In order to pull off the impossible, Chris will have to trust in the tradition of Santa Claus, rely on the kindness of strangers, and learn to love the job he was born to do. Millions of children are counting on it.
A film for the whole family, Alpine Entertainment’s Santa Jr. is the funny and touching story of a young man struggling to find his own identity and live up to the Claus family name, while the fate of Christmas hangs in the balance.
