SEE JANE DATE
When perpetually single Jane Grant receives a wedding invitation allowing for one guest, she has only two months to find a date and fall in love, Jane’s personal dating game yields more surprises than she ever imagined.
In this romantic comedy of contemporary mores and ill manners, a young woman embarks on a two-month personal quest to find the perfect man—or at least the next best thing.
As a long-time assistant editor at Posh Publishing, Jane Grant’s (Charisma Carpenter, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) professional track is as stalled as her personal one. It doesn’t really help her morale that she works with an ex-boyfriend (the irritating kind who gets on with his life) who’s about to marry the “woman of his dreams.” Nor is she thrilled to have to oversee the sleazy autobiography of C-level celebrity Natasha Nutley (Holly Marie Combs, Charmed)—the very same halter-topped mantrap who stole Jane’s prom date back in high school. If all this weren’t humiliating enough, Jane’s just received an invitation to her younger cousin’s lavish wedding, and it’s engraved with two of the most dreadful words a perpetually available single can encounter: “plus guest.”
Come wedding day, Jane had better deliver. After all, she’s already told everyone, including her meddlesome Aunt Ina (Linda Dano, General Hospital), that she’s in a serious relationship. (Who else has to know that it’s with the ever-reliable Jack Daniels and Jose Cuervo?) Now Jane has two months to find the guy to fit the lie, complete the guest list, and save face. If the series of miserable set-ups orchestrated by her well-meaning best friends Eloise (Rachelle Lefevre, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) and Amanda (Sadie LeBlanc, Get Over It) are any indication, Jane’s in for big trouble. Certainly out of the millions of available single men in New York City, something has to pan out. Doesn’t it? From first date to blind date, from double date to last date, the match game is on—and playing it to the end could yield more surprises than Jane ever dreamed.
Featuring Antonio Sabato, Jr. (Melrose Place) and Evan Marriot (Joe Millionaire), See Jane Date is an honestly funny romantic comedy that will resonate with anyone who’s ever vowed never to fall in love again—and couldn’t help it when they did.
