Every woman in America reads and loves her. They follow her guidance, and they do what she tells them to turn their lives around. Most of all, her fans trust her. But the fairy godmother of advice columnists has a secret. And it’s bigger than a pumpkin…
Nola Delvin, shy, overweight editor at SASS! magazine, and her two best friends, Deb and Nancy, have created the “Cinderella Pact.” With sisterly support, they’ll lose weight together by following the sage advice of Belinda Apple, the popular writer, whose empowering column for SASS! is edited by none other than Nola herself. Each woman has her own personal reasons for improvement: Deb wants to slip into a bikini for the first time; Nancy wants to recapture her slimmer youth: and as for Nola, she’s looking for the self-esteem to step out from the shadows and admit to the world who she really is – the glamorous, endlessly secure, and understandably reclusive Belinda Apple.
Unable to reveal her true identity, Nola has to follow her own advice. It’s a predicament that gets tricky when Nola’s boss blindsides her with the “thrilling” news that they’re publishing Belinda’s column as a book. That means parties, interviews, signing tours, and contracts—and unless Nola comes clean, charges of fraud could end her career, her budding relationship with the magazine’s computer tech guy, and worst of all, her friendship with her trusting friends, Deb and Nancy. As the pounds come off, the real issues in each woman’s life are revealed. And very soon, Nola’s going to have to risk everything to accept herself for who she really is, inside and out.
A romance with a plus-sized heart, Cinderella Pact speaks to anyone who’s ever struggled to shed their inhibitions and to find the courage to discover who they are and everything they could be.
